Dussehra 2025: My First Raavan Dehen Experience in PCMC

πŸŽ‰πŸ”₯ Raavan Dehen Experience – πŸ”₯πŸŽ‰

This Dussehra (2nd Oct 2025), myself along with my 3 friends – Arun Aroon Naik, Sonal Sonal Chaturvedi & Datta Dattatraya Nanaware – decided to witness the Raavan Dehen in PCMC. As we all know, it’s customary to burn the effigy of Raavan on Dussehra, marking the victory of Good over Evil πŸ™βœ¨

We first headed to Pimple Saudagar (Govind Yashada Chowk) around 8 pm. The crowd was massive and the event was organized by a local politician (since elections are near, it had become a marketing hotspot too πŸ˜…). There were singers, dancers and even a small stage act of Ramleela 🎭.

But since the Dehen was taking too long, our foodie hearts craved some snacks πŸ˜‹ – so we left for a quick round of pani puri & other local delicacies before moving on.

Then Datta told us about Pimpri (Nav Maharashtra Vidyalaya Ground) where not one but three effigies – Raavan, his brother Kumbhakaran & son Meghanath – were to be burnt πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯. Our curiosity took us there and… wow! The ground was massive, the crowd even bigger. DJs, anchors, music, lights, shouting & hooting – total carnival vibes πŸŽΆπŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί

Of course, politicians were taking centre stage as well (election season πŸ™ˆ). After a long wait, at 11:15 pm the much-anticipated Raavan Dehen finally happened. Crackers & fireworks filled the effigies (I’ll skip the air/noise pollution part here πŸŒ«οΈπŸ™„). One by one, all three effigies went up in flames – a truly grand spectacle πŸ”₯πŸŽ†

This was my first time witnessing Raavan Dehen in person. While it has turned into a bit of a political stint these days, the core message still stands strong – Good must always prevail over Evil πŸ’›
